Guidelines for Tug-o-War



Guidelines of Tug-o-war

    o   Registration on first-come-first-serve basis

  • Teams to consist of five members and one coach if required
  • No spiked footwear. Raised heels up to a maximum of ¼ inch (7mm) allowed on footwear (to be inspected)
  • Gloves may be worn
  • Overall pull to be 12 feet and winner is the team to pull their opposition 6 feet from the starting mark.
  • No hand over hand pulling allowed. Team members must go back with rope when pulling.
  • Anchorman to loop rope around one shoulder to secure rope. No knot is permitted on the rope end.
  • All team members to remain on their feet at all times, no hands are persistently allowed on the ground apart from the anchorman who is permitted to use one hand on the ground.
  • Teams through coaches or captains will be reminded of the rules prior to commencement of competition. Only coaches can consult with the judge and the judge’s decision is final.
  • A team member is permitted to pull for only one team during a competition.
  • Direction of pull will be decided by toss of coin.
  • Prior to commencement of pull, judge will ask coaches if they are ready, then give the command `take the strain`, at this point team members may heel in, when teams are balanced, order to `pull`, is given and the tie has commenced.
  • Teams will leave area of competition during ties in which they are not involved.
  • Two warnings for infringements of the rules or inappropriate behavior, including foul language, will be given. A further warning will result in disqualification.

Guidelines for Race
8th March 2014
Time: 11:00am – 12:30pm
Venue: Sports Ground
100m
The 100 meters race is an athletics track event run in lanes over one lap of the track with one runners completing 100 meters. The runners begin in the same stagger as for the individual 100 m race.

o   Registration on first-come-first-serve basis
o   Each runner has to cover one round of 100 m
o   The runners begin on their feet when they hear the sound of “Get Set Go”
o   Changing the track in between of the race will results in disqualification
o   No runner can touch or hit other runner in between the race
o   Spikes shoes are not allowed’
Relay Race (400m)
The 4 × 100 meters relay or sprint relay is an athletics track event run in lanes over one lap of the track with four runners completing 100 meters each. The first runners begin in the same stagger as for the individual 400 m race. A relay baton is carried by each runner and must be passed within a 20 m changeover box (usually marked by yellow lines) which extends 10 m on either side of each 100 m mark of the race. Another line is marked 10 m further back, marking the earliest point at which the outgoing runner may begin (giving up to 10 m of acceleration before entering the passing zone)

o   Registration on first-come-first-serve basis
o   Each team must have 4 members to complete the race
o   Each member has to cover one round of 100 m
o   The other relay runners begin on their feet when they receive the baton in the passing zone
o   The baton can only be passed within the exchange zone, which is 20 meters long
o   Exchanges made outside the zone – based on the position of the baton, not either runners’ feet – result in disqualification.

Guidelines for Debate
8th March 2014
Time: 12:30pm – 1:30pm
Venue: Auditorium

Topic: AAP, Kejriwal were right to hold protest rally against Delhi Police


1.      Registration on first-come-first-serve basis
2.      Total time for each debate will be approximately 30 minutes.
3.      There are two teams, each consisting of  five speakers
4.      For each topic, there will be a five-minute unbiased introduction. This neutral introduction will be assigned to someone other than the two teams in a particular debate.
5.      Each speaker is questioned as soon as he concludes his constructive speech. The witness must answer the questions without consulting his colleagues
6.      The affirmative must advocate everything required by the topic itself. No revision of position of a team is permitted during the debate
7.      Two-minute second team rebuttal
8.      Two-minute first team rebuttal
9.      Questions from the judges and the audience (10 minutes)
10.  Judges decision will be final

Nukad Natak Rules and Regulations
Time: 12:45pm – 2:30pm       8th March 2014
Venue: IGSM Activity Area
·         The play may be in English or Hindi.

·         The maximum time limit of 20 minutes. Negative points for exceeding the time limit.  

·         Teams are expected to mention approximate time for their plays.

·         Elimination is based on play scripts.

·         The script should be mailed to the undersigned before 2 days of the event. Illegible scripts will be disqualified.

·         The script sent should be an exact replica of the play, as it will be performed.

·         Points will be deducted for vulgarity.

·         Use of mikes, lights is not allowed.

·         No props will be provided. Teams may use props if they want, for which prior permission from the   Coordinator is necessary.

·         Negative points for props usage without permission.

·         Teams must arrive at the venue 1 hour before the event starts.

·         Teams must bring their own costumes & posters.

NOTE: Definition of "prop": An item is not a part of clothing is a prop. Also, an item of clothing will be considered a prop if it is moved from its initial position “duri”

Guidelines for General Quiz

Following to be kept in mind while registering
·         4 round Quiz.
·         Questions will be a blend of History, Geography, Business, Sports and Politics.
·         Number of questions depends upon the number of participants.
·         There will be a tie breaker in case of a tie at the last round.
·         Last round till only entitle 2 teams
·         Every round is elimination round.
·         A team needs to consist of 2 people.
·         Multiple entries for a single college is allowed

Guidelines for Fashion Show
Time: 4:30pm – 6:00pm                   8th March 2014
Venue: Stage
There should be 10-12 participants per team exclusive of the designer, choreographer and supporting members.
·         Time limit for the main round is 15 minutes (inclusive of stage setup).All teams should present their introduction before starting (no extra time will be given for that).Points will be deducted for exceeding the limits.
·         One person per team must be there to manage sound track and one for the lights.
·         Emphasis will be given to clothing, walking style and originality.
·         No props and costumes will be provided by us. Teams have to bring their own costumes and props.
·         Use of materials like candles, matches, cigarettes, alcohol and any hazardous materials on stage is prohibited. Teams are required to contact organizers before using such stuffs…
·         Two copies of soundtrack to be submitted in advance in standard audio format- .wav or.mp3 of sound quality 192kbps or above to the organizers(in C.Ds only, no laptops).
·         Vulgarity of any kind would lead to disqualification of the team from the event. Hence, if the team feels that any stunt of costume design can be deemed as vulgar, it is strongly advised to consult organizers then performing it directly on stage.
·         The decision of the judges and organizing committee will be final and building in all.
·         Candidates for the best male and female model will be chosen from all the teams doing their performance. The candidates thus selected individually for the title.
·         It is imperative that all team members must possess a valid college id which must be presented at the time of registration.
·         A green room would be provided for changing purpose.

Guidelines for Face Painting
Time: 10:00am – 10:45am     7th March 2014
Venue: Central Garden
Rules and Regulations:-

Eligibility: In order to be eligible for face painting competitions, you must be a registered participant of the convention.
Times: All competition times will be posted in the convention schedule and available at the competition desk.
Check in Times:  All competitors must check in at the competition desk no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the competition.  You will be allowed into the competition room prior to the start time to set up your station 15 minutes before the face competition begins.
Time Limits:  Competitors will be allowed one hour to complete the design.  At the end of the one hour monitors will call for brushes to be put down.  Any competitors touching their models after the monitors have called the time but before the work has been judged will be disqualified.   
Judging:  Participants will be judged by a panel of competent and knowledgeable judges.   Entrants (and parents of youth competitors) agree that the time, manner and method of judging shall be solely within the discretion of the Competition Officials and the decisions of the Judges Rules Committee will be final in all cases.
A minimum of three judges and one auditor (non-judging monitor) must be present at all competitions to make it a fair and democratic event.  Communication between entrants, friends, parents or instructors with the judges is to be restricted during the competitions.
Judges Rules Committee:  Any discrepancies or questions which may arise relating to judging procedures, results, awards, etc. shall be referred to the Judges Rules Committee for consideration and deliberation.  The decisions of the Judges Rules Committee will be final in all cases.
*Competitors must carry all necessary equipment and products including paints, brushes, water buckets and any other tools and supplies needed to achieve your designs.  Artists must provide their own models.
*Designs must be painted on the face.  Additional painted area on the neck and décolletage are allowed but not mandatory.
*Designs should reflect the theme: “Twisted Fairy Tales”.
*Artist may paint his/her own face.


Photos: All artists and models must be available after the competition for picture taking.  All artists and models must sign release forms upon registration.  The MOSAIC has the right to publish and use the images for promotional and marketing purposes.
 Misconduct: Any misconduct or use of profane language on the part of any parent, entrant or spectator is prohibited.  Poor sportsmanship i.e., Booing, jeering, foul language, etc. will not be tolerated.  There is to be no loud noise in the competition rooms under any circumstances, except to give applause and accolades to all the competitors at the end of competitions.  Disqualification and or penalties will be taken off final scores for misconduct.

Rules of Cricket

The game of Cricket has been governed by The Rules of Cricket for over 250 years. These Rules of Cricket have been subject to additions and alterations recommended by the governing authorities of the time.
The Rules of Cricket have stood up remarkably well for over 250 years of playing the game. It is thought the real reason for this is that cricketers have traditionally been prepared to play in the Spirit of the Game as well as in accordance with the Laws.
Following you show keep in mind:

Eligibility:
All Students who are Enroll with any Institute/University.
Age limit for Participation is 18 years to 30 years as on 1st Dec. 2013.


Rules and Regulation:


1.      The competition is open to all young Students from any part of India.
2.      DVD/CD, which should be reach from 4th March to 6th March 2014. Only those films which submitted with in the deadline will be officially part of the competition.
3.      A team can use animation and special effects, but only if made during Filmmaking hours.
4.      Photographs can be used in a film, only if the team has the rights to them.
5.      The finished film must be a minimum of 4 minutes in duration, and a maximum of 8 minutes in duration - not including end credits.
6.      End credits at the end of each film are limited to a maximum of 60 seconds. The 60 seconds is over and above the maximum length of 8 minutes.

7.      The end credits must mention: "This film was made for IILM Short Cinema Contest, 2014"


8.      Entries received after the closing date will not be entertained.
9.      Films must be the original work of the team and must not infringe Third-party’s rights.
10.  Must be suitable for publication and not contain obscene or indecent material.
11.  Must not contain obscene or pornographic material; may not contain defamatory statements about any person, company, organization or entity.
12.  Must not invade privacy or other rights of any person, company or entity.
13.  Must not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations; and may not contain any copyrighted elements not owned by team.
14.  Films containing prohibited or inappropriate content, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate will be disqualified.

Guidelines for Rangoli

Time: 11:00am – 12:00am     
Venue: Activity Area

Following is needs to be remembered:

v Rangoli art should not exceed the foam board size of 3 ft x 4 ft
v All others participants in the group need to be registered at the time of registration
v A group may have no more than three participants.
v Rangoli competition duration is of 1 hour. Your Rangoli art should be completed by the time, ready for judging. Please stop working on your art after instructor ask you to stop.
v Please bear in mind that your Rangoli art should not offend the viewers and is presentable to viewers of all ages.
v Participants need to bring all the required materials for their Rangoli.
v No part of the Rangoli can be pre-made before arriving to the competition.
v Viewers votes and judges opinion combined will determine the winners.
v Participants are required to be present at the time of prize distribution ceremony.
v Multiple entries by one person are not allowed.
v Lead participant is responsible for all Communication with the group. Organizers will only communicate with Lead participant.

Brand Wars and Brain Vita

1 .BRAND WARS
·        In this event there will 10 teams (approx.).
·        Each containing 2 members. We will prepare chits in which some products name will be written. Each team will have to pick one chit.
·        After that, teams will have to prepare a brand name for the product and promote that product with the help of some resources that will we provided by us like chart paper, sketch pen, pencil, eraser, scale, etc.
·        Teams doing best job will be awarded.


2. Brain-Vita (quiz)
·        Each teams should consists not more than 2 members
·        In this event, 20 minutes quiz will be conducted and 30 questions will be there.  Related to marketing field.

v  The theme for this contest would be declared at the time of the event. Attempt to relate your photos with this theme.
v  Participants must bring their own cameras.
v  Photos must be submitted as either .jpg or .gif format
v  By entering in the contest you are granting the permission to use your photo
v  Your photo will be judged on the basis of quality, creativity and its ability to relate with any of the themes
v  All entries must be original photography, violators will be disqualified
v  Please carry your college ID card otherwise you will not be allowed to participate

Rules for Singing Competition
7th March 2014
Solo
Time: 3:00pm – 4:45pm                                                                   Venue: Stage
Following is Important:


1.      Registration on first-come-first-serve basis.
2.       Solo Singing Competition in Two Categories and Result of all two
3.      Categories to be announced separately.
4.      Categories are: Hindi Songs & Folk Songs
5.      Time Limit for Solo Singing is 3-4 minutes per Category.
6.      One Participant should participate in one category.
7.      Participant must bring instrument or instrumental music with self to perform.
8.      After 4 minutes the participant will be declared disqualified.
9.      Every Participant must bring their College ID card with them, without
10.  ID card Participant is not allowed to Participate.
11.  Judges’ decision is final.


Duet
DESCRIPTION
In this singing extravaganza you'll see amazing singers from different colleges trying to make history by singing their heart out and competing with each other. So what are you waiting for, hit the right note and become the ultimate singing champion.

RULES & REGULATIONS:


·         Registration on first-come-first-serve basis
·         It is a duet singing competition.
·         Multiple entries from a single college are allowed.
·         There is a single round in this competition.
·         In this round participants will present their prepared song sequence which is to be of minimum 90 seconds in duration. Music selection will also be a criterion for the judgment.
·         If there is tie between the participants for the first position then as a tie breaker we will make them sing another song of 60 seconds duration each and based upon the final decision will be taken.
·         Any breach of discipline by any participant during the preceding of the event will lead to the cancellation of the participation, irrespective of whether that individual is the winner.

Solo
Display your individual brilliance, be the star of the stage that’s all yours. The stage gives you the chance to flaunt your best moves and elegance. This is your chance to free yourself and express the best.



v  Registration on first-come-first-serve basis
v  Time limit is 3-4 minutes. Negative points for exceeding the time limit.
v  The participants are requested to bring two CDs to avoid technical disturbance. Out of which, they are also requested to submit one CD to the coordinator of the event.
v  No extra time shall be given for installing CDs. It should be done prior to the event.
v  The participants will be judged on their costumes, visual presentation and dance form.
v  There is no particular theme.
v  Participants should get their own props. All props must be specified to the event coordinator.
v  Lighting of matchsticks, candles and cigarettes or any derogatory acts are strictly not allowed on stage.
v  Choice of song is open to the participants.
v  Any obscene/offensive music/song is not allowed.
v  The decision of Judges will be final and binding.




Group

Being one of the most popular events, Group dance is the dance extravaganza. Flashy costumes, loud make-up and the outstanding choreography make a dance team the best!



o    Registration on first-come-first-serve basis
  • Time limit is 5-6 minutes for each performance. Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.
  • Each team may have 6-9 members, including coordinators.
  • Choice of songs is open to the participants.
  • The participants are requested to bring two CDs to avoid technical disturbance. Out of which, they are also requested to submit one CD with the coordinator of the event.
  • No props will be provided by the coordinators. Participants can carry their own props.
  • Dance performance should not convey any indecent gestures.
  • Green room would be given for changing purpose.
  • The participants will be judged on the basis of their rhythm, formation, synchronization, expressions, and costumes, makeup, setup and overall effects.
  • Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
